Windows 8 start menu new update latest version

Sometimes it’s handy to see the recently opened files opened for a particular program. These files now appear on the left hand side of the ViStart start menu. When you see a small arrow on the right side of a program, click it to see the most recently opened files for that application.
Better still, ViStart finds even more files than what the original Windows start menu would.

Personalised Pinned Lists.

Well we’ve ditched the “Internet” and “Email” part of the start menu to make way for pin lists. Now you can right click any program in the start menu and select “Pin to start menu”. Pinned items are essentially shortcuts that appear on the left hand panel in the start menu until they are manually removed by the user.

Super Indexing and Improved File Searching that’s better AND faster than Microsoft’s!

Originally ViStart would only find files from your documents, now ViStart can find files all over your computer. Whatever Microsoft’s start menu can do ViStart can do better. ViStart now shows you more files and more applications that wouldn’t even appear in the windows start menu. There’s more. ViStart now shows you the program’s descriptions instead of executable names where possible. Where the windows start menu would show you “regedit”, ViStart will show you “Registry Editor”. Also we’ve finally added icons to the search results.

Context menus and right click support

Finally with right click support you can run programs as administrator, pin programs to the start menu and access the properties of any file or program straight from start menu.
